Fire Drill!
Posted in Random on June 20th, 2008Wow, I just about had a heart attack. Apparently the fire station was testing the fire alarms in my apartment building today, but I was not aware of this… All of a sudden my ear drums about exploded from the sound coming from the alarms, and I jumped out of my computer chair and darted for the bedroom for my keys, wallet, and cell phone. As I was jogging towards the front door I stopped at the office for a solid 30 seconds and contemplated if I should shut down my computer so I could grab my tower and monitor real quick. Then I realized that I was about to burn to death so I better get the “F” out and hope that insurance would cover buying me a new water cooled dual quad core Boxx PC that just came out yesterday. So after barrelling down the stairs from the 3rd floor I got out to the parking lot and saw no one else around… There were plenty of cars, but no people. So I walked to the other side of the building and it was the same thing. Then I looked inside the glass doors and saw someone messing with the fire alarm, so I went back in the doors and noticed that they had posted a little note that said there was gonna be a fire alarm test. So now I’m back in my office chair, my computer is safe and sound, and thank God my computer is still here so I could type this for all 2 people that will probably read this. Whew!
